Maidstone Security is a local business covering Maidstone and mid-Kent. It takes data seriously, and this page is the short version.
What we collect
- If you contact us (email, phone, WhatsApp, form): your name, contact details, postcode, and whatever you tell us about the job. We use it to quote and carry out the work, and for nothing else.
- If you visit the site: we count visits with our own cookieless visit counter, described under Website statistics below.
What we do not do
- We do not share your information with third parties for marketing.
- We do not add you to a mailing list unless you ask.
- We keep a record of enquiries, chats and our dealings with you. If you would like your own record deleted, contact us at hello@maidstonesecurity.co.uk and we will do it.
Form submissions
The contact form posts directly to a script on our own web space, which emails the message to us. No third-party form processor is involved.
Website statistics
We count visits to this site, for statistics only, using our own counting tool. It sets no cookies and does not store your IP address. For each page view it records the page, the site you came from, any campaign label in the link you used, your country (approximate) and whether the visitor looks like a person or a robot. To count unique visitors it uses an identifier. We do not share this data with anyone except our hosting provider, which stores it on our behalf. We respect Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control. If you click 'Don't count my visits' in the footer, we remember your choice in this browser with one small local-storage flag called na_ignore; our counter stores nothing else in your browser. You can object at any time using the link in the footer, or contact us at hello@maidstonesecurity.co.uk. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in understanding and improving our site.
Camera footage from installed systems
We do not have ongoing access to footage recorded by a camera system once it is installed, unless you have asked us for a monitored service through our monitoring partner (see the pricing page). Footage from a system we install belongs to you, is kept on your own device or account, and is your responsibility as the system owner. Our UK CCTV & doorbell law guide explains what that involves.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can ask us to confirm what data we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or stop processing it. Email hello@maidstonesecurity.co.uk for any of those. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
