Service

Solar cameras for the corners no socket reaches.

A solar camera runs from a small panel and an internal battery, so it can guard a shed, garage, gate or drive end without any cabling. We choose the position by sunlight and Wi-Fi reach, angle the panel for winter, and test the signal on site before fixing it.

Gardens, allotment-style plots and outbuildings

Maidstone has plenty of long rear gardens with a shed, garage or workshop at the bottom, and the Victorian terraces near the Tonbridge Road often have a back lane behind them. Those are the spots solar cameras suit, because running a cable down the garden is costly and untidy.

Winter is the test. Between November and February the sun is low, trees and neighbouring roofs cast long shadows, and a south-facing wall is worth far more than a tidy north-facing one. We read the light before choosing the spot, which is what keeps the battery healthy.

One contractor, start to finish

We are qualified electricians as well as installers. If a doorbell, floodlight or camera needs a new supply instead of an existing one, we run it ourselves in the same visit, with no second contractor.

Questions

How long does a solar camera battery last without sun?

It depends on the model and how often it is triggered. A well-placed panel normally keeps it topped up, and we check the position so a dull fortnight does not leave it flat.

Can a solar camera cover a garage at the end of a lane?

Yes, if there is Wi-Fi or a 4G option at that spot. We test the signal there first and recommend a mesh node or a 4G model if the router is too far.
